    We respond well to emotions, particularly if they’re not ours. We enjoy watching movies, reading books, and listening to music because in them, we can find a familiarity that is removed from the personal. We use escapism when we convince ourselves that it’s easier and more doable to empathize with ourselves if we witness those emotions experienced by other people first. We are entranced by emotions yet we find it hard to be comfortable with our own feelings.     We are all born creative, to various degrees. The innovations and inventions past and present have been brought to life by people like you and me. Well, maybe not entirely like us, because our unique environment and experiences always set us apart and change our perception of the world. So why is it that even though we are born creative and are able of creative endeavors, we can still make ourselves believe that “I’m not the creative type”?     For someone who fears failure, the thought of failing is unacceptable. I think that a lot of people who struggle with depression also fear failure, especially when they convince themselves that their depression is “fixable”. When you convince yourself that failure is not an option you “fail” to fully grasp the idea that there are lessons to be learned, that there is something to gain in the long run.

    It seems that everyone I meet fears “others”: what “others” might say, or think, or how they will judge us. I think we’re socialized to have this fear. Not everyone feels it the same way or to the same degree, but most of us experience it.
