Ever wonder Why am I here? Who am I? Why do I act the way I do? Do I matter? Why do I make the same unhelpful choices?
Do you feel worthless and hopeless? Have you lost interest in activities that once brought you joy? Do you wonder why, how or when you became so negative?
Do you struggle to connect with your partner? Do you have insecurities about yourself in your relationship? Have trust or control issues driven a wedge between you and your partner?
Do you often worry about what others think of you? Are you unsure of yourself? Do you feel like you have lost your grip on life?
Have you experienced trauma, such as an accident, disaster, abuse, severe illness or the death of a loved one? Do you wonder why you cannot move past this terrible memory?
When experiencing anxiety, depression, identity issues, trauma, or relationship problems, it is not uncommon to feel overwhelmed with emotions, stuck in unproductive cycles and/or out of sync with people and your surroundings.
I will help you understand yourself using a combination of psychodynamic therapy, existential philosophy and psychoanalytic thinking.
You are the direct result of your life’s experiences. We will do a lot of Exploration in your therapy; you and I will focus on where you are now, how you got here, what worked and didn’t and really, begin exploring the root causes of your problems. We’ll talk about your values, beliefs, thoughts, feelings, behaviors, sexuality, and dreams…basically everything that makes you, You. We will explore the functionality of why you do what you do and the inherent patters in your relationships.
Your perception of the world is shaped by your past experiences; in particular, by the emotional charge that potentially traumatic events have carried throughout one’s life. We will seek to Understand how unconscious motivations manifested through actions have led you to where you are now. The proverbial “A-HA!” moments tend to occur here.
With a clear understanding of where your problems stem from and how your mind and emotions work, you will have the chance to Resolve your negative feelings and the inner conflicts that have left you stuck, lost and confused.
